When visiting the ancient Khmer temples, wherever you are, please remember to be courteous, careful and clothed. We’ll call it the three C’s rule!

Rule number one- dress appropriately! A few reasons for this but first being courteous and respectful. Men- wear trousers and wear a shirt or top that comes down to the elbows. Ladies- Same applies, no shorts or short skirts, cover your legs to at least below the knee and cover your shoulders. I would recommend a cotton scarf as they keep you cool, both ladies and gentlemen. I love mine!
It isn’t just through respect though, it is for your own safety too. Good footwear is needed, trousers stop you getting scrapes or bitten by snakes if you go off track and a scarf will protect you from the sun. Pretty simple really but the amount of people I saw in flip flops, shorts, revealing tops etc was mind blowing. The Angkor park wardens will start enforcing the clothing rule now as visitor numbers are back and above pre Covid times.
These are some items of clothing I recommend, good boots, tactical trousers especially for the bike and a nice cool cotton shirt. I may earn a commission if you buy through the following Amazon links.
